The Mid-Autumn Festival , also known as the Moon Festival, Zhongqiu Festival , or in Chinese, Zhongqiujie (tradisional chinese: 中秋節), or in Vietnamese "Tết Trung Thu", is a popular harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese dating back over 3,000 years to moon worship in China's Shang Dynasty. It was first called Zhongqiu Jie in the Zhou Dynasty . In Malaysia , Singapore , and the Philipines, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival or Mooncake Festival.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese Calendar, which is usually around late September or early October in the Gregorian Calendar. It is a date that parallels the Autumnal Equinox of the solar calendar , when the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest.

THE MAD PROJECT !

Leo Club Of SMI shows our great support in the MAD celebration . We woke up early in the morning and went to our school to complete the MAD project . Our Leo Garden was beutified and cleaned up . The plant were trimmed and the fences were painted . Afterall , our Leo Garden . SMI LEOS ROAR !

Our club went to the 31st Joint Installation Of Leo Clubs of Perak Region 4 and 5 !

The Joint Installation was awesome . The performances were great . Especially the cat walk part of Lions .We do enjoy ourselves there and we're able to take some pictures with the other clubs .

The ANNIVERSARY event of leo club of St Michael Ipoh !!

On the 30th of Januari , the Leo Club of St Michael has organised its 5th anniversary. The event was chaired by Leo Yau Wing Tim and vice-chaired by Leo H'ng Yee Jin. After a lot of hardwork by all the members of our Leo Club , we manage to hold the event succesfully. There were about 120 Leos from various schools who have attended this event.Our district chairperson for region B2 308 , Lion Alan Thoo and regional commitee chairperson for region 4 , Lion Mary Goh also attended this event.Besides that, we have also invited the previous boards of our club and last but not least, the founder of our Leo Club, Master William Liew. Below are some of the photos taken on the day of the event. Special thanks to the president of our Leo Club , Leo Steven Tiw Tee Siang for guiding me throughout the process of planning and holding the event.

Fun Laughter And Games!!(FLAG)

Our previous project at YMCA that was SMI Fellowship Day with the theme:FUN LAUGHTER AND GAMES(F.L.A.G)!!It was held on 28th December 2009..The purpose of this project is to strengthen the relationship among the Leos from District 308B2.It also provide a chance for Leos to know other Leo from other club..Its was a successful project..Firstly Leo Club of St.Michael's would like to thank to the Organizing Chairperson,Leo Soon Zheng Hoong,the Organizing Committee and fellow Lions and Leos who spent their golden time in our Fellowship Day!!*THANK YOU*It starts at 9 in the morning and end about 12.00pm..In that duration,games such as Banana game,Wrap it! and other were conducted and also performance by Jeremy Goh,Leo Idol 2009 and breakdance was performed by Soul Crew..

Leo Boo and Leo Kenny were chosen to play the BANANA GAME!!!They need to swing their banana to hit the beer bottle and make sure it drop..

Christmas Celebration with Precious Gift Home

On 20th December 2009,Leo Club of Ipoh Unity(O) and Leo Club of St.Michael's had jointly organized an Christmas Celebration at Precious Gift Home..Leo Daryl as the Multiple District President for Leo Clubs in Philippines also participate in this project..The celebration starts around at about 5.30 in the evening..We also brought some presents for the children in that home as their X'mas present..This project was also supported by Leo club of Anderson,Leo Club of Yuk Choy and Leo Club of Sam Tet.They seem to be very happy and we felt happy too when we saw they are enjoying so much during the party..hahax!!

3R GO GREEN PROJECT!!

Leo Club of Sultan Ahmad Shah had done a GO GREEN project in Cameron Highlands.The theme for this project was 3R Go Green Project!It was organized on 14th December 2009..This project was also supported by Leo Club of SMI and Leo Club of Sam Tet..During this project,Leo Club of SMI and also Leo Club of Sam Tet make an poster according to their theme for this project!!!
